DRIVER CHARGED AFTER 2 VEHICLE CRASH

(KINCARDINE TWP, ON) - On April 23, 2017 at 1:26 p.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a 2 vehicle crash along Highway 21 in Kincardine Township. Officers arrived with Bruce County paramedics to find that a Silver Dodge Caravan and a Brown GMC Sierra pick-up truck were involved in the crash.

The driver of the Caravan, 65-year-old Shirley HAMMOND of Mapleton Township, was charged with fail to yield. There were no serious injuries reported at the scene.

MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISION LEADS TO IMPAIRED DRIVING CHARGE

(TOWNSHIP OF PILKINGTON, ON) - On April 22, 2017 at approximately 5:40 p.m., members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to the scene of a one vehicle motor vehicle collision on Fourth Line E, near Sideroad 4, Township of Pilkington. Officers arrived on scene and located a female driver of a 2011 Hyundai Tucson.

The vehicle had left the roadway, went over a ditch and struck a hydro pole. While speaking with the female driver, officers believed her to be impaired by alcohol. She was arrested and brought to a local Police Detachment for further testing.

34-year-old Anita ILLES of Guelph has been charged with Over 80 Mgs and Impaired Driving contrary to the Criminal Code. She is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on May 16, 2017. Her driver's licence has been suspended for 90 days and the vehicle impounded for a period of seven days as per statute.

POLICE ARREST TWO MALES IN CONNECTION TO BREAK-IN

(TOWNSHIP OF SOUTHGATE, ON) - On April. 24, 2017 at approximately 2:32 p.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), with the assistance of West Grey Police Service, responded to a report of a break-in, in progress, at a residence on Southgate Sideroad 39, in the Township of Southgate, just southeast of Durham.

Upon arrival, police discovered a male suspect inside the residence.

39-year old Arthur McCLOCKLIN, of the Township of Southgate, was arrested and charged with break and enter, possession of break-in instruments, and possession of stolen property under $5,000.

A second suspect, a 17-year old male, from the Municipality of West Grey, who had fled the scene on foot, was located in the area and arrested. He was charged with break and enter and possession of stolen property under $5,000.

Both males were held in custody pending a bail hearing scheduled for April 25, 2017.

The stolen property, consisting of tools, clothing, small electronics, chainsaws, and two replica firearms, were recovered.

THEFT OF ATV

(TOWNSHIP OF GEORGIAN BLUFFS, ON) - On April 22, 2017 at approximately 5:13 p.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a stolen all-terrain vehicle (ATV) from a property on 4th Avenue SW in the Township of Georgian Bluffs.

The victim reported that his ATV, a 1986 Honda TRX 350 4x4, VIN #JH3TE0707HM106327, was stolen sometime during the past two months while he was away.

TOOLS STOLEN FROM VEHICLE

(TOWNSHIP OF GEORGIAN BLUFFS, ON) - On April 22, 2017 at approximately 10:07 a.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of tools that had been stolen from a pick-up truck parked on Zion Church Rd. in the Township of Georgian Bluffs sometime during the night of April 21 or early hours of April 22.

Unknown person(s) smashed the cap window of the truck and removed a generator, dry wall gun and skill saw.

TWO WATERLOO MALES CHARGED WITH TRESPASSING

(MUNICIPALITY OF MEAFORD, ON) - On April 29, 2017, at approximately 7:20 a.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a trespassing complaint on the 7th Line in the Municipality of Meaford after two male suspects refused to leave the property when asked by the owner.

Despite several posted "No Trespassing" signs, the males entered the property to access a river to go fishing. When police arrived, the males acknowledged they had seen the signs.

Two 18-year old males from Waterloo, Ontario were each issued a Provincial Offence Notice for Entering Premises When Entry Prohibited under the Trespass to Property Act (TPA).

Grey County OPP remind the public that you must have the property owner's permission to enter the property for any recreational activities such as hunting, fishing, etc. Failing to do so may result in charges.

DEER BONES FOUND AT BEACH

(KINCARDINE, ON) - On April 26, 2017 at 9:35 a.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of found bones along the beach at the west end of Harbour Street in Kincardine.

A section of the boardwalk was closed while officers investigated, it has since been re-opened.

The found bones were determined to be from a deer. The investigation is complete.

DRIVER ARRESTED AND CHARGED FOR IMPAIRED DRIVING AND OVER 80

(NORTHERN BRUCE PENINSULA, ON) - On April 27, 2017 at 4:04 p.m., the Bruce Peninsula Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested a male driver who was operating a 2007 silver Nissan while impaired on 6 Highway near Everatt Side Road, in the Municipality of Northern Bruce Peninsula.

Upon speaking with the driver, police found the driver had been drinking alcohol. The driver was arrested and transported to the Bruce Peninsula OPP Detachment in Wiarton for breath tests, in which he failed.

Tanner HUEHN, age 27, from Tobermory, has been charged with impaired driving and over 80 milligrams. His vehicle was impounded and his driver's licence suspended. He is required to appear before the Owen Sound Court of Justice on May 11, 2017 to answer to the charges.
