BREAK AND ENTER TO RESIDENCE

(TOWNSHIP OF GUELPH/ERAMOSA, ON) - On June 8, 2017 The County of Wellington Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was dispatched to a Break and Enter at a residence on Fife Road, Township of Guelph/Eramosa.

Sometime between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. June 8, 2017 unknown suspect(s) entered the residence by forcing open a side door breaking the frame of the door.

Suspects stole the following property: Silver MacBook Air and Apple mouse, Canon Digital Camera - black with a strapping case, White Ipad Air II in a black folio case, 90-year-old wooden harmonica, Black Bose Speaker, Cash, and an Iphone Chargers

Racing Charges

On June 9, 2017 at approximately 6:15 p.m. an officer observed a blue 2016 Dodge Challenger traveling on County Road 7 Guelph-Eramosa Twp. at a high rate of speed while passing on a downhill into oncoming traffic. The vehicle was locked on radar at 135 km/h in an 80 km/h zone.

24-year-old Andrew VARIO of Milton has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. He was also charged with no insurance and unsafe passing. He will appear in Guelph Provincial Court July 19, 2017. His driver's licence and vehicle were seized for a period of seven days as per statute.

On June 11, 2017 at approximately 2:00 p.m. an officer was monitoring traffic on County Road 124 east of County Road 27, Guelph-Eramosa Twp. and observed a blue 2006 BMW 330ci traveling at a high rate of speed passing multiple vehicles. The vehicle was locked on radar at 136 km/h in an 80 km/h zone.

19-year-old Carter Adam PARK of Fergus has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act as well as fail to have insurance card and drive motor vehicle no permit. He is to appear in Guelph Provincial Court August 16, 2017. His driver's licence and vehicle were seized for a period of seven days as per statute

RIDE CHECK RESULTS IN DRIVER CHARGED

(TOWNSHIP OF GUELPH/ERMAOSA, ON) - On June 3, 2017 members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E.) Check on Conservation Road in the Township of Guelph/Eramosa. At approximately 9:40 p.m. the driver of a 2014 Hyundai Sante Fe entered the R.I.D.E. check.

While speaking with the male driver the officer formed the opinion that he was under the influence of alcohol. A Roadside Screening test was conducted which resulted in a fail. He was arrested and brought to a local OPP Operations Centre for further testing.

54-year-old David MATSON of Kitchener has been charged with Driving with Over 80 and Impaired Driving contrary to the Criminal Code and is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on July 14, 2017. A 90-day Administrative Driver's Licence Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute.

RIDE CHECK RESULTS IN DRIVER CHARGED

(TOWNSHIP OF GUELPH/ERMAOSA, ON) - On June 3, 2017 members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E.) Check on Conservation Road in the Township of Guelph/Eramosa. At approximately 3:00 p.m. police observed a motor vehicle traveling eastbound towards the R.I.D.E. check, then stop, turn around and proceed in the opposite direction. Police followed the motor vehicle, a grey 2001 Toyota Camry, and conducted a traffic stop.

While speaking with the male driver the officer formed the opinion that he was under the influence of alcohol. A Roadside Screening test was conducted which resulted in a fail. He was arrested and brought to a local OPP Operations Centre for further testing.

48-year-old Robert SCHMIDT of Tiny Township has been charged with Driving with Over 80 contrary to the Criminal Code and is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on June 23, 2017. A 90-day Administrative Driver's Licence Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute.

TWO MORE IMPAIRED DRIVERS CAUGHT

(COUNTY OF WELLINGTON, ON) - On June 9, 2017 members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E.) Check on Roszell Road and Townline Road, Township of Puslinch. At approximately 9:00 p.m. the driver of a black 2008 GMC Sierra entered the R.I.D.E. check.

While speaking with the male driver officers formed the opinion that he was under the influence of alcohol. A Roadside Screening test was conducted which resulted in a fail. He was arrested and brought to a local OPP Operations Centre for further testing.

51-year-old Shawn ROWLAND of Cambridge has been charged with Driving with Over 80 mgs of alcohol in 100mL of blood contrary to the Criminal Code. A 90-day Administrative Driver's Licence Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute. He is to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on July 11, 2017 to answer to the charges.

On June 10, 2017 at approximately 3:20 a.m. an officer observed a 2006 Mazda M6 travelling on Metcalfe St. Elora. The officer conducted a traffic stop and while speaking with the male driver noted signs of impairment. A Roadside Screening test was conducted which resulted in a fail. He was arrested and brought to a local OPP Operations Centre for further testing.

40-year-old Michael DOUCET of Kitchener has been charged with Driving with Over 80 mgs of alcohol in 100mL of blood contrary to the Criminal Code. A 90-day Administrative Driver's Licence Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute. He is to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on July 11, 2017 to answer to the charges.

WOMAN CHARGED WITH STEALING

(TOWNSHIP OF GUELPH/ERAMOSA, ON) - On the morning of Sunday June 11, 2017 Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a theft of a cell phone from the guard house at the Grand River Conservation area, Rockwood. An attendant had her $700 personal cell phone stolen by someone visiting the campground on the night of June 9, 2017.

Video surveillance captured the theft of the phone from the business as well as a licence plate associated to the suspect.

Upon further investigation 22-year-old Sashauna WILKINS of Brampton was arrested and charged for Theft Under $5,000 contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. She is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on July 21, 2017.
