4 TEENAGERS HURT IN SINGLE VEHICLE CRASH, AIR AMBULANCE UTILIZED

(TOWNSHIP OF CENTRE WELLINGTON, ON) - On Saturday June 10, 2017 at approximately 8:15 p.m. Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a serious collision involving a single motor vehicle on the East-West Garafraxa Town Line, south of Belwood.

Initial reports indicated that a south bound Jeep Liberty had lost control and crashed and that one person had been ejected and another was trapped in the vehicle.

OPP as well as Centre Wellington Fire & Rescue and Guelph-Wellington Paramedics Services attended and treated 4 patients with varying degrees of injuries. All were transported to a local hospital with the most seriously injured, the 17-year-old female driver, being airlifted with non-life-threatening injuries to a larger hospital. The passengers included an 18-year-old male, a 17-year-old male and a 16-year-old female. All 4 parties are from the Guelph and Guelph/Eramosa areas.

Police continue to investigate the collision and charges may be pending.

The road was closed briefly but is now open.

THEFT OF BOATS

(TOWNSHIP OF CENTRE WELLINGTON, ON) - On June 10, 2017 at approximately 11:30 a.m., members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of two stolen boats from the Belwood Lake Conservation Area.

Investigation revealed that sometime between 8:30 p.m. June 9 and 6:30 a.m. June 10, 2017, unknown suspect(s) stole 2 boats stored in a dock near the rental building of the Belwood Lake Conservation Area.

The boats are describes as 14' Lund boats with 8 hp Yamaha motors.

HOME AND VEHICLE ENTRY THEFT SPREE OVERNIGHT IN FERGUS

(TOWNSHIP OF CENTRE WELLINGTON, ON) - On the early hours of June 6, 2017 Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) started receiving reports of theft from homes and vehicle throughout Fergus.

Sometime overnight unknown suspect(s) entered vehicles and homes.

Police are actively investigating these incidents and are asking anyone that may have been victimized or might have witnessed any suspicious activities to contact Wellington county OPP immediately.
