IMPAIRED DRIVER FACING DAY IN COURT

(KINCARDINE, ON) - On June 19, 2017 at 5:15 p.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a driving complaint on a Grey Toyota Corolla. The vehicle was located on Olde Victoria Street in Kincardine and officers found the driver was impaired.

Forty-eight-year old Tina WALDEN of Kincardine was charged with operate over 80 milligrams. She is scheduled to appear in court on July 5, 2017 to answer to the charge.

FLAGSTONE STOLEN FROM BUSINESS

(MUNICIPALITY OF MEAFORD, ON) - On June 21, 2017 at approximately 8:13 a.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a theft report from Ontario Stone Veneers Incorporated located on Lombard Street in the Municipality of Meaford.

Sometime between 10:00 p.m. on June 20th and 7:45 a.m. on June 21st, unknown person(s) stole approximately 100 pieces of Eramosa square cut flagstone from skids outside the business. The flagstone was valued at $1,450.

NOVICE DRIVER RECEIVES THREE DAY LICENCE SUSPENSION

(TOWNSHIP OF CHATSWORTH, ON) - On June 22, 2017 at approximately 12:06 a.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop on Grey Rd. 40 in the Township of Chatsworth and found that the driver of the 2014 Chevrolet vehicle had been drinking alcohol.

The driver, a 25-year old female from the Township of Georgian Bluffs, was received a three day driver's licence suspension and issued a Provincial Offence Notice for being a novice driver having a blood alcohol content (BAC) Above Zero.

OPP DRUG WARRANT EXECUTED

(KINCARDINE TWP, ON) - On June 28, 2017, members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau - Community Street Crimes Unit, West Region OPP Tactics & Rescue Unit (TRU) and West Region OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at a property along Highway 21 in Kincardine Township.

As a result of the execution of the search warrant, police seized cocaine, cannabis marihuana and hashish. The estimated, combined value of the seized controlled substances was $60,940.00.

Police also seized offence related property that consisted of trafficking paraphernalia, cash and prohibited weapons.

Sixty-year old Nicola MALFARA of Kincardine Township was charged with 3 counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a prohibited weapon, unauthorized possession of a firearm, careless storage of a firearm and possession of property obtained by crime.

He was held in custody pending the result of a bail hearing scheduled for June 28, 2017.

POLICE INVESTIGATING FOUND BONES

(NORTHERN BRUCE PENINSULA, ON) - On June 27, 2017 at 11:39 a.m., the Bruce Peninsula Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of found human remains in a bush area along Lakewood County Lane in Northern Bruce Peninsula.

The Bruce Peninsula OPP Detachment, the Bruce Peninsula OPP Crime Unit, OPP Forensic Identification Services (FIS), Ontario Forensic Pathology Services - Forensic Anthropology and the Office of the Chief Coroner for Ontario are conducting the investigation under the direction of Detective Staff Sergeant Scott Moore of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB).

The investigation is in its early stages.

POLICE INVESTIGATING OVERNIGHT THEFT OF ATV

(LUCKNOW, ON) - On June 28, 2017 at 8:22 a.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) police received a theft report from a residence along Somerville Street in Lucknow. Sometime between 6:00 p.m. on June 27, 2017 and 8:00 a.m. on June 28, 2017, a Red Kawasaki KBD 750 All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) with licence #0EV29 was taken. There is no estimated value for the stolen ATV available at this time.

SIU INVOKES MANDATE

(GREY COUNTY, ON) - On Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at 6:05 p.m., the Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a request for a well-being check on Victoria Crescent in Meaford.

A 46-year-old male was transported by ambulance to a local hospital for assessment.

The OPP has contacted the Province's Special Investigation Unit (SIU) who has invoked its mandate. Further inquiries should be directed to the SIU Communications at (416) 622-2342.

A 26-year-old male was transported by ambulance to a local hospital for assessment.
