IMPAIRED DRIVER FACING A NUMBER OF CHARGES

(KINCARDINE, ON) - On July 4, 2017 at 7:42 p.m., a South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer stopped a Black Ford pick-up truck on Charles Street in Kincardine. The driver was found to have been drinking alcohol and refused to cooperate with officers.

Thirty-one-year old Brent SMALL of Huron Township was charged with impaired operation, refuse breath sample, obstruct peace officer, drive with no ignition interlock, drive with no insurance, drive with no valid permit and drive with liquor readily available. He is scheduled to appear in court on August 9, 2017 to answer to the charges.

IMPAIRED DRIVER FACING DAY IN COURT

(KINCARDINE, ON) - On July 3, 2017 at 10:04 p.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a suspected impaired driver operating a Green Ford Explorer in Kincardine.

The vehicle was stopped on Kincardine Avenue in Kincardine and the driver was found to have been drinking alcohol. Thirty-eight-year old Kimberly NOBLE of Kincardine was charged with impaired driving, refuse breath sample and fail to notify change of address. She is scheduled to appear in court on August 9, 2017 to answer to the charges.

POLICE INVESTIGATE BREAK-IN TO SEASONAL PROPERTY - INVERHURON

(INVERHURON, ON) - On July 1, 2017 at approximately 3:38 p.m., South Bruce Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a break, enter and theft from a seasonal property on John Street in the Hamlet of Inverhuron.

Sometime between June 25th and July 1st, 2017, unknown person(s) forcibly entered the cottage and removed a number of house-hold items, electronics, food items and liquor.

South Bruce OPP continue to investigate.

SERIOUS INJURIES AS A RESULT OF COLLISION

(MUNICIPALITY OF BROCKTON, ON) - On July 4, 2017 at approximately 4:18 p.m., South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), together with Bruce County Emergency Services (EMS) and South Bruce Fire Department, responded to a serious motor vehicle collision between a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado pick-up truck and a 2008 Freightliner (UPS truck) at the intersection of Bruce Road 20 and Highway 9 in the Municipality of Brockton.

Initial investigation revealed the Chevrolet pick-up truck was travelling southbound on Bruce Road 20 and failed to stop at the intersection; colliding with a UPS truck which was travelling eastbound on Highway 9.

The driver of the Chevrolet pick-up truck, an 18-year old male from South Bruce, was extricated from the vehicle and transported to hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the UPS truck, a 48-year old male from Arran-Elderslie, sustained life-threatening injuries. He was air-lifted to a London hospital where he remains in critical condition.

The OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigation Unit attended the scene and is assisting with the investigation which is ongoing.

The area of Hwy. 9 and Bruce Road 20 was closed for several hours for the investigation and the safety of first responders.

POLICE INVESTIGATING FOUND BONES

(NORTHERN BRUCE PENINSULA, ON) - On June 27, 2017 at 11:39 a.m., the Bruce Peninsula Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of found human remains in a bush area along Lakewood Country Lane in Northern Bruce Peninsula.

Police attended the location and the remains of one individual was located, removed from the scene, and transported to the Office of the Chief Coroner and Ontario Forensic Pathology Service in Toronto for post mortem examinations.

As a result of the investigation and forensic examination, the deceased individual has been identified as 30-year old Niram Lee SHOULDICE, who was reported missing to the Bruce Peninsula OPP on March 6th, 2017.

The Bruce Peninsula OPP Detachment, the Bruce Peninsula OPP Crime Unit, OPP Forensic Identification Services (FIS), Ontario Forensic Pathology Services - Forensic Anthropology, and the Office2 of the Chief Coroner for Ontario are continuing the investigation, under the direction of Detective Staff Sergeant Scott Moore of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB).

THEFT OF CUB CADET LAWN TRACTOR

(MUNICIPALITY OF MEAFORD, ON) - On July 1, 2017 Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated the theft of a Cub Cadet lawn tractor stolen from a property on Concession 10 in the Municipality of Meaford. The theft occurred sometime between June 22 and June 29, 2017.

Description: yellow Cub Cadet, Serial # 1B073H30106, Model # 13AG91A5596, has a 42" cutting deck, valued at approximately $ 2400, and the key was left in the ignition

POLICE LOOKING FOR STOLEN TRUCK

(BRANT TWP, ON) - On July 5, 2017 at 8:41 a.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a theft report from a residence along Marl Lakes road in Brant Township.

Sometime between 5:00 p.m. on July 3, 2017 and 8:00 a.m. on July 5, 2017, a Grey Chevrolet Silverado pick-up truck with licence #ZL7952 was taken. There is no estimated value for the stolen pick-up truck available at this time.
