Guelph Police Reports - July 12, 2017

Break and enter interrupted

Just before 3am this morning, alarm security personnel were responding to an internal alarm that had gone off at a Silvercreek Parkway business when they arrived and found that the business had been broken into through a rear door.

The lone male suspect was still inside the premise and when discovered, he ran off towards the Hanlon Expressway. Police were called to search for the suspect and were assisted by Waterloo Regional Police K9. The male suspect was not located and at this time it is undetermined what was taken from the business.

Stolen bike in break-in recovered later in the day

Early in the morning on July 10th, a Gordon Street south resident reported to police that someone had entered his garage and taken a Specialized Crosstrail mountain bike. Later that same afternoon at approximately 4:45pm, a patrol officer saw a male with what appeared to be that bicycle at the corner of Wyndham Street and Surrey Street.

When the officer investigated further, he was able to confirm that it was indeed the one stolen and arrested the male.

Devin Patrie-Campbell, a 21 year old from Guelph was charged with possession of stolen property and breach of probation. He was later released to appear in court on August 15, 2017.
