Impaired driving arrest

Posted on Thursday July 13, 2017 Subscribe via RSS Subscribe via e-mail Shortly after 8 am on July 12, 2017 police received a report of a vehicle weaving all over the roadway in the area of Gordon Street and Clair Road West.

Police attended the area and located the vehicle. During the traffic stop police determined that the driver was impaired.

A 39 year old female from Waterdown was charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle, operate motor vehicle over 80 mgs of alcohol and failing to provide breath sample. She was later released to appear in court on August 1st, 2017.


Collision on Woodlawn Road West

At around 3:15pm on July 12, 2017 police received a call of a motor vehicle collision in the area of Woodlawn Road West and Governors Road. A vehicle travelling eastbound on Woodlawn Road left the roadway and struck a hydro pole.

The impact caused the pole to break and high voltage power lines fell towards the roadway. Police closed the roadway for several hours so Hydro could repair the damage.

The driver of the vehicle received minor injuries. Damage to the involved vehicle is estimated at approximately $25,000. No estimate for the cost of the pole replacement and Hydro services was available at this time. A 50 year old Harriston man was charged with careless driving.
