MISCHIEF TO ERIN PUBLIC SCHOOL

(TOWN OF ERIN, ON) - On August 20, 2017 Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to the Erin Public School for a mischief complaint. Yelling and banging could be heard behind the public school.

Police arrived and patrolled however all parties had left the area. Police observed multiple windows broken on the school building. On all sides of the building several windows had been smashed.

No entry appeared to have been gained into the school. In total, approximately 15 windows were observed to be damaged. Some double paned windows were not broken completely through, however shattered in a spider web pattern. Damage has been estimated at $15,000.

The investigation into this is ongoing and police are looking for anyone with any information regarding this or any other criminal activity to contact the Wellington County OPP at 1-888-310-1122. MISCHIEF IN ERIN - FOUR YOUTHS IDENTIFIED

(TOWN OF ERIN, ON) - During the early morning of Tuesday June 20, 2017 a small group of suspects believed to be all males in their late teens, removed a statue of a horse from McMullan Park in Erin. The placed the horse statue on the roof of a small hatchback car believed to have a sunroof.

The suspects drove approximately one kilometre to Erin District High School and entered the rear parking lot behind the school. The suspects then hoisted the horse up to the roof of the high school using ropes. The horse was placed over top of the front entrance at the school enabling staff and students to have a clear view of it later that morning.

The youths responsible have been identified and been diverted according to the Youth Criminal Justice Act. The horse was repaired and returned. All parties involved are satisfied that this was no more than a prank and these youths are not responsible for other mischiefs occurring in Erin.

RIDE PROGRAM FINDS DRUNK DRIVER

(TOWNSHIP OF CENTRE WELLINGTON ON) - On August 16, 2017 at approximately 11:20 p.m. members of Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) check on County Road 21 at Sideroad 4, Township of Centre Wellington.

A male driving a 2014 Ford F150 entered the RIDE check. While speaking with the driver the officer observed signs of alcohol consumption. A Roadside Screening test was conducted which resulted in a fail. He was arrested and brought to a local OPP Operations Centre for further testing.

35-year-old Trevor Robert ADAM of Elmira has been charged with Over 80 contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. His driver's licence has been suspended for 90 days and the vehicle impounded for a period of seven days as per statute.

He was also charged with Drive motor vehicle with no validation on plate contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and Operate a motor vehicle without insurance contrary to the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act. He is to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on September 26, 2017 to answer to the charges.

RACING CHARGE

(TOWNSHIP OF CENTRE WELLINGTON, ON) - On August 17, 2017 at approximately 9:15 p.m., a Wellington County OPP officer was monitoring traffic on Highway 6 near Sideroad 10 in the Township of Centre Wellington.

The officer observed a male driving a Dodge Ram travelling at a speed that appeared to be well above the posted speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar at 132 km/h in an 80 km/h zone.

28-year-old Sheldon GIBSON of Mount Forest has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and will appear in Guelph Provincial Court on October 4, 2017.His driver's licence and vehicle were seized for a period of seven days as per statute.

MISCHIEF IN ERIN - PORTA POTTIES DESTROYED BY FIRE

(TOWN OF ERIN, ON) - On August 26, 2017 at approximately 5:00 a.m. members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with fire crews from Town of Erin Fire and Emergency Services responded to a report of a fire at 19 Pioneer Drive, Town of Erin.

The fire occurred at a storage yard for Porta Potties. Approximately 24 Porta Potties were destroyed in the fire and several others were affected by the heat. Damage is estimated at approximately $40,000.

OPP and Town of Erin Fire and Emergency Services are investigating and the fire is deemed to be suspicious.

DRIVER CALLS OPP AFTER CRASHING CAR - CHARGED WITH IMPAIRED

(TOWN OF ERIN, ON) - On August 26, 2017 at approximately 10:00 pm. Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a call from a driver who advised he had just been involved in a collision on County Road 50, Town of Erin. The driver advised the call taker that he had been consuming alcohol.

When officers arrived at the scene they located the male along with a 2013 Toyota Prius. The Prius had collided with a bulldozer sustaining severe front end damage. This occurred in a closed construction zone. The male suffered minor injuries.

While speaking with the male driver the officer observed signs of alcohol consumption. He was arrested for Impaired Driving and brought to a local OPP Operations Centre for further testing.

37-year-old Trevor HARVEY of Erin has been charged with Impaired Driving and Over 80 contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. His driver's licence has been suspended for 90 days and the vehicle impounded for a period of seven days as per statute. He is to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on October 3, 2017 to answer to the charges.

UTILITY TRAILER STOLEN

(TOWNSHIP OF CENTRE WELLINGTON, ON) -Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a theft of a utility trailer used for construction and landscaping equipment. The trailer was parked at a job site on Howard Crescent in Fergus and was last seen on August 23, 2017.

The trailer is described as a 2007 dual axle utility trailer. Inside the trailer were safety rails, cross braces, scaffold planks and two sets of brick tongs.
