O.P.P. Report - July 11, 2005

Web posted on July 11, 2005

Georgian Bluffs - A Georgian Bluffs man faces numerous of charges after a domestic incident on the weekend.

At about 7:30pm on Sunday July 10, 2005, officers were dispatched to a reported domestic at a residence on Grey Road 17 in Georgian Bluffs. The line with the caller, an upset female, was disconnected as police responded. No one was at the residence when police attended and one officer stood by as a second patrolled the area for the vehicle and persons involved. The vehicle, a pickup truck, was located in a field on a road that is not maintained. A male in the truck was seen struggling with a female and appeared to be assaulting her.

He was ordered out of the truck and arrested. An ambulance was requested for the female and she was taken to Grey Bruce Health Services where it was determined that her injuries did not require hospitalization.

Charged with Assault, Forcible Confinement, and Failing to Comply with the Conditions of an Undertaking is 34-year-old Bradley Krampien of Georgian Bluffs. He was held in custody overnight and was scheduled to appear for a bail hearing today (11-Jul-05) in the Ontario Court of Justice-Owen Sound.

Grey Highlands - Grey County O.P.P. is investigating an attack on a Markdale residence by someone intent on causing fire damage, or worse.

On Wednesday, July 6, 2005, just before 10:00pm Grey County O.P.P. were called to a fire at a two-story brick home situated on Toronto Street South in Markdale by the Markdale and Area Fire Department. Information indicated that witnesses observed two males running from the scene as the fire grew. An alert passing motorist saw the fire and called 911 from a nearby phone. There were 4 persons in the residence watching a movie when the incident occurred. A man who resides in the home caught a glimpse of the flames and extinguished them with water just prior to the arrival of the fire department.

Investigators found a window on the south side of the residence that was damaged by fire. The damage was superficial. The brick was scorched in the area of the window, as was the grass on the ground below. A red plastic gas can was found nearby.
