Police Report - December 7, 2005

2:10pm, December 6, 2005 - The downtown liaison officer, while on foot patrol, stopped two men who were carrying a wooden box that was covered by a coat. The wooden box contained a set of silver flatware. Investigation revealed that the silver flatware and case had just been stolen from the Dutch Toko Store 128 Wyndham Street North. The two men were arrested for Possession of Stolen Property.

Douglas Garbutt, 26, of Guelph, and Darrell Lyons, 19, of no fixed abode, will be in court in January 2006 facing one charge each of Possession of Stolen Property.


December 6, 2005 - A Wilsonview Avenue residence was broken into during the evening hours, by forcing a door open. Stolen were some jewelry, an iPod, and a digital camera. There are no suspects at this time.

December 6, 2005 - A residential shed on Westmount Road was broken into during the early morning hours by forcing a window open. Stolen was a red & black Murray lawnmower. There are no suspects at this time.

December 6, 2005 - A McIlwraith Crescent residence had a window broken during the early morning hours, in an attempted break-in. Nothing was taken, and there are no suspects.

4:15am, December 6, 2005 - A routine traffic stop on Victoria Road North has lead to the arrest of a 34-year-old Waterloo man and a 28-year-old Cambridge woman. Investigation revealed that the man, who was driving the car, was under suspension for unpaid fines. When police searched the vehicle a stolen laptop computer and 0.3 grams of crystal methamphetamine were seized. The woman, who was a passenger in the car, was found to be in possession of an additional 2.0 grams of crystal methamphetamine that she had hidden in her sweater pocket.

Vladimir Bilek will be in court on December 7, 2005 charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Stolen Property, Breach Recognizance, and Drive While Under Suspension.

Jollene Bilek will be in court in January 2006 charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance.
