Arson charges laid in Suspicious Fire Investigation
Puslinch Twp On Wednesday May 7th, 2008 at about 10:40pm County of Wellington OPP officers were advised of a suspicious fire at a home on Maltby Road, Puslinch.
Members of the Puslinch Twp Fire Department attended and found a suspicious fire started in the basement area of the un-occupied home and the fire had burned itself out. This property is vacant and the owners were attempting to rent the home. A local real estate agent had recently shown the home to potential renters.
Officers from the County of Wellington OPP Crime Unit along with members of the Ontario Fire Marshall Office were called to investigate. Damage to the home is estimated to be approximately $60,000.00.
Mark David Uttley aged 35 years of Dundas has been charged with Arson to Property, Break and Enter as well as Breach of Probation. Uttley is scheduled to appear in Guelph Court on May 12th, 2008 for a Bail Hearing.

Drunk Driver
Puslinch Twp On Sunday May 11th, 2008 at about 2:45am County of Wellington OPP officers investigated the driver of a 2007 Toyota SUV on Wellington Road 35 near Wellington Road 34. Officers found the driver had been drinking.
Dieu Thanh Huynh aged 41 years of Guelph has been charged with Impaired Driving and Over 80 mgs. Huynh is scheduled to appear in Guelph Court on June 9th, 2008 to answer to the charges.

Break and Enter
Town of Erin On Monday May 12th, 2008 at about 7:20pm County of Wellington OPP officers responded to a report of a break-in to a home located in Erin Twp.
Officers found that the homeowner had left the home between 2:45pm and returned about 6:00pm to find many items have been moved and doors open on cabinets. Police were called and found suspects had forced open a rear basement windowand went though the home.
Stolen at this time was a Compaq Presario laptop computer, an IPod, a quantity of DVD movies and about 25 bottles of liquor. Total value of the property stolen is estimated to be about $3000.00.
Police are asking if anyone has information regarding this break-in to contact the County of Wellington OPP Rockwood office at 519-856-1506 or they could leave an Anonymous Tip with the Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (1-800-222-TIPS).
