Web posted on February 16, 2010

(Fergus, On) On Monday October 26th, 2009 the County of Wellington OPP received information about some irregularities with the records keeping of a local pool company.

Members of the County of Wellington OPP Crime Unit looked into the business dealing of "Ponds for People Pools" located on St. David Street North, Fergus. Investigation revealed that a local lady had been hired as office manager for this store in 2003 and she has been responsible for all aspects of the business. One of her duties included making deposits for transactions into the company bank account.

During an audit the district company manager became aware of some problems with deposits in the past two years. Police conducted an investigation and discovered that approximately $52,000.00 in cash had not been deposited as required.

County of Wellington OPP Crime Unit have now charged Susan Black aged 46 of Fergus with Theft Over $5000.00 contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. Black is scheduled to appear in Guelph court to answer to the charge.
