R.I.D.E-Results and Arrest-On February 18th, 2010 members of the Guelph Police Service participated in a R.I.D.E. (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) program at various locations within the city.

A total of approximately 550 motor vehicles were checked by officers between the hours of 10:15pm and 2:45am.

At 1:24 am the RIDE program was set up on Wellington Street at the Hanlon Expressway when a vehicle tried to avoid the RIDE lanes when it made a U-turn and entered the onramp for the Hanlon Expressway. The vehicle was stopped and the driver was found to have the odour of an alcoholic beverage on his breath and he was arrested for Impaired Driving. The Driver's breath results were over two times the legal limit.
