Break, Enter and Theft Arrest- On April 22nd, 2010 at 10:05 pm two residents of an
apartment building on Dawson Road Guelph were in their ground floor apartment when
their attention was drawn outside by the sound of loud voices. They went to their open
patio door, screen drawn, and were verbally confronted by the two males and words were
exchanged. The accused then jumped over the balcony railing, charged through the
screen door, pushed the female resident and struck the male resident multiple times about
the head, neck and back.
A second unidentified male also came into the apartment and assaulted the male resident.
Both males then fled through the front door of the apartment.
A short time later Guelph Police located one of the males and he was arrested without
incident.
The victims did not seek medical attention and did not know the two suspects.
Jason BOWMAN 18 years of Guelph was charged with Break, Enter & Commit,
two counts of Assault and will appear in court in June.
The second male is still at large. He is described as: Male, white, in his twenties.5'8-
5'10', medium build, wearing a white t-shirt, jeans or long shorts.

Arrest-Utter Threats- On April 22nd 2010, at 3:45pm, a male went into a business on
Willow Road Guelph and became very agitated with the store staff. The male yelled
profanities at the female clerk and left the business. The male stayed in his car outside
the business for a short time and at one point motioned his hands to form two handguns,
pointing them at the victim and motioned as if to simulate shooting her. This action
caused the victim to fear for her safety, so much that she asked her manager to remain
with her and the police were contacted.
Jason SHEILDS 36 years of Guelph has been charged with Utter Threats and was
held for a Bail Hearing.
Assault-Arrest- On April 23, 2010 at 2:20 am Guelph Police began and assault
investigation that occurred on MacDonell Street Guelph. Investigation revealed that a
male had been on Macdonell Street with friends and he was trying to provoke people to
fight with him. The male then walked up to another male and suddenly punched the male
in the face in an unprovoked attack. The victim was knocked to the ground where he
struck the back of his head on the concrete side walk and was knocked unconscious. The
accused and his friends fled the scene.
The victim suffered a swollen cut right eye, a swollen right cheek bone, a bloody and
swollen nose, swollen and cut lips and he complained of a sore jaw and teeth. He was
transported to hospital by ambulance.
The suspect was located a short time later and as officers tried to effect an arrest on him,
he became aggressive and refused to co-operate with the officers. The male was taken
into custody after a brief struggle.
James MASCOLA 20 years of Guelph was charged with Assault Cause Bodily
Harm, Resist Arrest, Breach Probation and three counts of Breach OIC
Undertaking and was held for a Bail Hearing.
Guelph Police Property Auction- The Guelph Police will be hosting their next property auction on Tuesday May 4, 2010. The event will be held at the Col. John McCrae Legion on York Road Guelph. Viewing of the items will be conducted between 4:00 pm and 6:00 Pm with the auction beginning at 6:00 pm. There will be bicycles, cameras, sports items, electronics and other interesting items are up for grabs. The auction is hosted by Dan Bailey Auctions and all are welcome.
