Police activity April 30, 2010

Arrest-Pedestrian Struck-On April 16th, 2010 a 44 year old Guelph female was struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Fair Rd and Silvercreek Pkwy in the City of Guelph. The female was transported to the Guelph General Hospital and was treated for several abrasions, damaged tendons and cuts to her lower legs. The victim required surgery and received several stitches. On April 29th, 2010 the Guelph Police concluded this investigation with the arrest of the driver of the vehicle. Jacob LOBOI 32 years of Kitchener was charged with Obstruct Police and Dangerous Driving causing bodily harm and will appear in court in June.

Cyclist Struck-Fail to Remain-On April 29th, 2010 at 7:30 pm, a 15 year old Guelph boy was struck as he crossed the intersection of Victoria Road and Grange Street, Guelph. The boy was knocked off his bicycle and onto the ground. The vehicle then reversed slightly and proceeded to drive around the boy who was still laying on the roadway. The unknown motor vehicle had to drive up onto the curb to maneuver around the boy. The vehicle was last seen turning right onto Victoria Road. The boy was not injured, he was wearing a helmet.
The bicycle received damage to the rear wheel. The vehicle is described as: dark green/turquoise vehicle that possibly had 4 doors, older style with rust. No licence plate was obtained.
The driver was described as: a white male, 40-50 years of age, large body build, long black/brown curly beard, long hair with a pony tail out of the back of the ball cap the male was wearing. Assault-Arrest- On April 28th, 2010, at 1pm, a landlord attended to his rental property located on Norfolk Street Guelph to speak with a tenant. An argument ensued and the tenant kicked the victim twice with his foot. The victim ran away and the accused pursued him and scratched him on his back with car keys. The victim was able to flee the scene. The victim did not seek medical attention for his injuries.
On April 29th, 2010, the suspect was located and arrested. Eric ARSENEAU 32 years of Guelph was charged with Assault and will appear in court in June.
