RURAL RESIDENT INTERUPTS BREAK-IN
(MUNICIPALITY OF NORTH PERTH, ON) On Thursday October 25, 2012 at approximately 2:20 p.m., Perth County OPP officers were dispatched to a residence along Road 154 north east of Monkton where a homeowner had interrupted a break and enter in progress.

Investigation revealed that the homeowner upon arriving home observed a pickup truck in the laneway. Suspecting the truck to belong to workers who were scheduled to do repairs at the home no suspicion was aroused. As the resident walked from the garage a scruffy looking male came from behind the house. The resident spoke to the male but was pushed to the ground as the male ran to the truck and sped away.

The male was described as Caucasian, in his late 50's, with an approximate height of 5'6" (168cm), heavy build, with blond shaggy hair, and two missing front teeth. He was wearing baggy jeans and a black hoody. The truck was described as an older model blue Dodge pickup truck with "4X4" written in white on the back.

Police searched the area for the male and truck with negative results. A check of the residence revealed that, while the home had been rummaged through, only a small piece of Jewellery appears to have been removed.

The Perth County OPP continue their investigation into this break-in. They request anyone who may have seen this male or the truck, to contact them at 1-888-310-1122. Should you wish to remain anonymous, you may call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), and you may be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $2,000.
