RABBIT, ROOSTER AND CHICKENS STOLEN
(GREY HIGHLANDS, ON) – On Friday, October 26, 2012 Grey County Ontario Police (OPP) received a report of a break-in at a rural property on Side Road 49 in the Municipality of Grey Highlands.
Some time between 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 23 and 9:45 p.m. on Friday, October 26, 2012 unknown person(s) forcibly entered the residence and an outbuilding on the property. Items taken include liquor, beer and a Remington pellet gun. A rabbit, rooster and several Banty chickens were also reported stolen.
Anyone with information which may assist is asked to call the OPP at 1-888-310-1122. Constable Agnes GUTKOWSKI is the investigating officer.

BEWARE OF THE PRIZE SCAM
(GEORGIAN BLUFFS, ON) – On Saturday, October 27, 2012, Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a "prize scam".
Police wish to remind the public that you cannot win money or a prize in a lottery unless you have entered it yourself, or someone else has entered it on your behalf. You cannot be chosen as a random winner if you don't have any entry.
An elderly woman from Georgian Bluffs was a target of such as scam after a male, who identified himself as Josh Brown, of Global International, contacted her stating she had won 10 million dollars. The scammer told the woman that in order to claim the prize she had to pay $40.00 and was insistent to meet with her in person to deliver the winnings. The victim hung up the phone and police were alerted.
The phone number used by the scammer was 1-876-313-0204, which registers to Jamaica.
Fortunately, the woman realized this was a scam and no personal or financial information was exchanged. The incident was reported to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre.
