Many without Power

Hydro One still has 40000 in the dark as of 2pm Tuesday. Walkerton area had around 6000 homes out. Residents there may not see power restored until tomorrow. Grey Bruce, including parts of Owen Sound, Sauble Beach, Georgian Bluffs,Holland Centre and Grey Highlands are reported to have over 15000 homes without power.

Province wide the total is over 85000 homes without power as of 12 am Tuesday, up from 40000 at 11 pm on Monday night. At 12:45 am Hydro one reported 82362 customers without power. By 9 am Tuesday the Hydro One reports over 100,000 homes out of power for Ontario. Toronto adds another 45000 customers. At the peak Toronto had 60,000 customers in the dark. Some may not see power restored until Thursday.

The high wind warning was lifted at 6 am.

Toronto has reported one death attributed to Sandy.
