Hurricane Sandy had Minimal Impact in Grey County

(CHATSWORTH, ON) – The storm dubbed as "Frankenstorm" aka Hurricane Sandy has had minimal impact in Grey County. Between 4:00 p.m. on Monday, October 29, 2012 and 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 30, 2012, Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received 40 calls for service. Of those calls, only five (5) were storm-related. Reports of downed trees and hydro wires were received.
- Tree down on Southgate Side Road 71, Southgate
- Hydro wires down on Lakeshore Road South, Meaford
- Tree/hydro wires down on Grant Avenue, Meaford
- Hydro wires down on Hwy. 26, Woodford, Meaford
- Tree down on Concession 6, north of Grey Road 40, Chatsworth
Some areas were without hydro for a period of time.
There were no injuries reported.
