Male Arrested In Domestic Incident
On Thursday November 22, 2012 at 1:26 a.m., Guelph Police received reports of a male banging on windows and the front door, yelling at a female inside a residence located on the west side of Guelph. The male left prior to police arrival.

The male was located a short distance away driving a white pick-up truck. When officers tried to initiate a traffic stop the male failed to comply. Officers pursued the vehicle on Oxford Street towards Yorkshire Street North where the truck drove towards an approaching police vehicle, swerving suddenly to avoid a collision. The vehicle then turned onto Suffolk Street and again drove towards a second police vehicle. The vehicle swerved avoiding a collision, and the pursuit terminated due to public and officer safety concerns.

The abandoned vehicle was located a short time later and a police K9 search of the area turned up negative. The male was located a short time later and arrested. Investigation revealed the male was in breach of a condition of his Recognizance of Bail and the truck had been stolen from a Guelph address.

A 27-year-old Guelph male was charged with three counts of Breach Recognizance, Breach Probation, Possession of Stolen Property Over $5000, Flight from Peace Officer, Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Drive While Licence Suspended. He was held for a Bail Hearing.
