POLICE PURSUIT ARREST MADE
On November 22, 2012, at 1:26am, a Guelph Police investigation led to an attempted traffic stop of a vehicle on Glasgow Street. The vehicle failed to stop and a pursuit began. The pursuit was called off for public and officer safety after Police cruisers twice had to maneuver to avoid head on collisions.

The vehicle which had been reported as stolen was found a short time later abandoned on Kimberley Avenue. Police K9 was called in and a search of the area turned up negative. Further investigation led to the eventual arrest of a male on Lonsdale Drive.

A 27 year old Guelph man was charged with; Breach Recognizance x3, Breach Probation, Possession of Stolen Property over $5000, Drive while license suspended, Flight from Peace officer, Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle. He will appear in court on November 23, 2012.

MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISION SERIOUS INJURIES
Guelph Police Traffic Investigators are looking into the circumstances surrounding a serious motor vehicle collision involving a motorcycle on November 22, 2012. At 5:50pm emergency services were notified of a collision between a pick-up truck and a motorcycle on Woolwich Street, south of Woodlawn Road.

A 1979 Yamaha motorcycle being operated by a 23 year-old Guelph man was travelling northbound on Woolwich Street north of Marilyn Drive. At the same time, a full size 2005 Chevrolet pick-up truck being operated by a 62 year-old Guelph man was attempting to exit the parking lot of 763 Woolwich Street (the former Dairy Queen).

The pick-up truck struck the right side of the motorcycle and in doing so the motorcyclist was thrown from his bike and landed in the southbound lanes of Woolwich Street. The motorcyclist sustained a serious injury to his leg and was transported to Hospital by GWEMS. The driver of the pick-up truck was unharmed.

The motorcycle was destroyed and the pick-up truck received minor front end damage. The estimated value of the damages was in excess of $5000.00.

The driver of the pick-up was charged with Failing to Yield.
