Guelph Public Library Records Increase in Use

GUELPH, ON – The Guelph Public Library (GPL) has hit an alltime circulation high in 2012 with over 2 million checkouts. At 3:30pm on Saturday, December 15th at the Westminster Square Branch, Mary, Diogenes, and Liam Baena checked out the 2 millionth item receiving a GPL prize package!
This is a great achievement for both the GPL and its community. DVDs, books, CDs, video games, eBooks, and electronic resources continue to be popular items adding to this growth of 13.2% over last year's dramatic increase.
Thanks to the supportive Guelph community for helping the GPL reach this milestone. There is something for everyone at the GPL. Cardholders have free access to books and various media types as well as 24/7 access to online resources like consumer reports, genealogy assistance, and eBooks via the library's re-designed website at www.library.guelph.on.ca.

Every day over 300 library customers use the 34 public access computers to: connect to the internet, apply for jobs and do research on the World Wide Web.
