Two vehicle Collision in Perth County

(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH EAST, ON) On Thursday December 27, 2012, at 4:45 p.m. Perth County OPP officers were dispatched to a two vehicle crash on Highway 7/8 east of Road 106.

Investigation revealed that a Dodge Journey was travelling west bound in the west bound lane when it veered into the east bound lane. The driver of an approaching east bound Toyota Tundra steered towards the south bound shoulder but was unable to avoid the collision.

The vehicles driver's side front corners impacted causing the Dodge to enter the north ditch and the Toyota the south ditch. The male driver of the Dodge and the passenger of the Toyota, a 52 year old male Huntsville resident, were transported to Stratford General Hospital with minor injuries.

The driver of the Dodge, a 32 year old male from the Township of Perth East has been charged with "careless driving". The crash resulted in commuter traffic delays for approximately an hour as some traffic was re-routed and the highway was reduced to a single lane of traffic.
