New Year's Eve RIDE Results
On Monday December 31, 2012, members of the Guelph Police Service conducted RIDE on Gordon Street between the hours of 10:30 p.m., and 3:30 a.m. Officers stopped and checked approximately 850 motorists. The approved screening device was used four times.

>> The first test resulted in a three day administrative driver's licence suspension
>> The second test resulted in a charge for "Young Driver - BAC (blood-alcohol content) above zero" under the Highway Traffic Act
>> The third test resulted in a pass.
>> The fourth driver tested was arrested.

William Taylor 26 years of Guelph was charged with Drive Over 80 and will appear in court in January 2013.


January 22, 2012 - As the result of an investigation into a routine traffic stop the Guelph Police have withdrawn all charges laid in Richard RUFFOLO's name. A warrant has been issued for the driver, a 28 year old Action resident.

Traffic Stop Leads to Arrest
On Monday January 1, 2013 at 12:28 a.m., Guelph Police stopped a vehicle on Speedvale Avenue East, Guelph and an approved screening device was used.


Female Arrested - Found to be in Possession of Ecstasy (MDMA)
On Tuesday January 1, 2013 at 1:45 a.m., a female was arrested for being intoxicated in a public place. A search subsequent to arrest revealed that she was in possession of over 200 tablets of Ecstasy (MDMA) that holds a street value of $4300.00.

Lisa GOODWIN 23 years of Guelph is charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking-MDMA and Public Intoxication. She was held for a Bail Hearing.


Hit and Run - Public Assistance Requested
On January 1, 2013, Guelph Police responded to a report of a hit-and-run collision on Peer Drive, Guelph. Investigation revealed that sometime between 9:00 p.m., on December 31 and 12:30 a.m., on January 1, an unknown silver vehicle struck a parked car on Peer Drive. The suspect vehicle left a large portion of its bumper behind at the scene and caused a large dent to the parked car.
