OPP R.I.D.E Check Stops Woman without Licence

(GUELPH, ON) On Thursday, January 3, 2013 at approximately 2:41 am, members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) R.I.D.E. Team were conducting checks on Highway 6 southbound near College Avenue in the City of Guelph. At this time and location officers investigated the driver of a 2001 Chrysler Neon that came upon the checkpoint.

Police spoke to the driver and discovered that she had been drinking however, refused to comply with the demand to complete a Roadside Screening Test. Further investigation revealed that the driver did not have a licence.

Lyndsy Jenkins aged 20 of Thorold has been charged with Refuse to Provide Breath Sample contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada and Drive No Licence contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph court on January 29, 2013 to answer to the charges.
