Recall - Select Bumbleride Carrycots Bassinets
Web posted on January 16, 2013
This recall involves bassinets, also known as carrycots. The product has collapsible fabric sides and flexible straps. They are compatible with various Bumbleride stroller units.
The following model names and numbers are affected:
>> Bumbleride Carrycot (CC-10);
>> Indie Carrycot (CN-75);
>> Indie Twin Carrycot (CC-25).
Health Canada's sampling and evaluation program has revealed that the product does not meet certain performance requirements of the Cribs, Cradles and Bassinets Regulations. The straps could fall into the occupant retention area and present an entanglement hazard to the occupant.
Consumers are advised to discontinue the use of the carrycot and contact Bumbleride directly to obtain a retrofit kit for their carrycot handles.
Neither Health Canada nor Bumbleride has received reports of incidents or injuries to Canadians related to the use of these bassinets.
The affected carrycots were manufactured in Taiwan by Bumbleride Inc. of San Diego, USA. The recalled bassinets were sold from January 2009 to May 7, 2012. Approximately 805 units of the recalled bassinets were sold in Canada.
