VEHICLE CAREENS THROUGH GUARDRAIL LANDS NEAR TRAIN STATION
(ST.MARYS, ON) On Saturday January 19, 2013, shortly before 10:30 p.m., Perth County OPP officers were called to a single motor vehicle collision at James St., and Queen St. East in St.Marys.

Upon officers arrival, a Volkswagen Jetta was located at the bottom of the embankment of Queen St. East at the VIA rail station, however the driver could not be located. From the damage it was determined that the vehicle had driven north on James St. South, crossed Queen St. East and crashed through the guard rail before driving down the hill and coming to rest near the train station.

Investigation revealed that Aaron FISHER (33) of St.Marys had been operating the car. He has been charged with careless driving, and fail to remain. He will have to appear in Stratford court on February 26, 2013 to answer to these charges.

SEVENTEEN YEAR OLD SPEEDER LOSES LICENCE
(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH EAST, ON) On Saturday January 19, 2013, around 4 p.m. a Perth County OPP officer on patrol observed a fast moving GMC Sierra pickup truck on Line 29 south of Stratford.

The officer activated the cruisers police radar and the locked the speed of the pickup truck at 138 km/h in an 80 km/h zone. The truck was operated by a 17 year old male from the Township of Perth South. The male was issued a summons for racing a motor vehicle. He is scheduled to appear in Stratford Court on February 12, 2013.

His driver's licence was seized and has been returned to the Ministry of Transportation as it is suspended for 7 days. His pickup truck was towed from the scene and has been impounded for 7 days.

E-BIKE OPERATOR CHARGED WITH DRIVE DISQUALIFIED
(MUNICIPALITY OF NORTH PERTH, ON) On Friday January 18, 2013 at approximately 3:20 a.m. Perth County OPP officers in Listowel observed a man operating an e-bike on Elizabeth St. North. The male was known to be prohibited from driving as a result of criminal code driving offences.

Samuel MCLEAN (51) of the Municipality of North Perth has been charged with two counts of drive disqualified, and with fail to comply with undertaking. He was held for a bail hearing on Monday January 21, 2013.

Operators of E-bikes are reminded that if they have a driving prohibition order related to a conviction under the Criminal Code of Canada, they cannot legally operate an e-bike.
