Single Vehicle Collision in Grey County - January 27, 2013

(CHATSWORTH, ON) - On Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at approximately 8:18 a.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a Ford 150 pick-up truck in the ditch on Concession 2 in the Township of Chatsworth. The driver, who appeared to be impaired, was attempting to extricate the vehicle from the ditch.

Police arrived and confirmed that the driver had been drinking alcohol. The driver was arrested and taken to the Chatsworth OPP Detachment for breath tests, which indicated he had consumed more than twice the legal limit of alcohol.

Richard Wesley MONK, 24, of West Grey, was charged with having care and control of a motor vehicle while impaired and having care and control of a motor vehicle while having a blood alcohol content in excess of 80 milligrams.

He is scheduled to appear in court in Owen Sound on February 14th, 2013.
