Police looking for vehicle that caused property damage
On January 25, 2013, at 4:40 p.m., Guelph Police attended to the area of Woodycrest Drive to investigate property damage. Investigators allege that an unknown vehicle was southbound on Woodycrest Drive towards Waterloo Avenue when it mounted the east curb, knocked over a no parking sign, drove over the front lawn of a private residence and continued on towards Waterloo Avenue before leaving the area.

Single vehicle collision leads to impaired arrest
On January 25, 2013 at 7:54 p.m., the Guelph Police Service received calls regarding a single motor vehicle collision at Eramosa Road and Callander Drive. Police arrived on scene to find a pickup truck had slammed into a hydro pole, severing it and knocking down a transformer.

The pickup truck was heavily damaged and Guelph Hydro was called in to replace the damaged pole. The driver did not require medical attention, however, as a result of the investigation; the male driver was arrested for Impaired Driving.

William DE BOER 21 years of Guelph has been charged with impaired driving and drive over 80mgs. He will appear in court on February 12, 2013.

Downtown disturbance results in two arrests
On January 26, 2013, at 1:00 a.m., Guelph Police on general patrol in the downtown, observed a group of people yelling at each other. Police attempted to intervene when an officer was pushed by one of the males. While attempting to arrest this male, a second male began to fight with the officers. Two officers received minor injuries to their head areas as a result of this altercation. Two arrests were made.

Connor MCONNELL, 20 of Brampton has been charged with Obstruct Police. He will appear in court on February 1, 2013.

Nicholas MACKENZIE, 20 of London has been charged with 2 counts of Assault Police Officer and one count of Cause Disturbance by Fighting. He will appear in court on February 8, 2013.

Three vehicle collision
On January 26, 2013 at 2:50 p.m., Guelph Police attended to the area of Wellington Street and the Hanlon Expressway for a three car collision. Police investigation determined that a 59 year old female Guelph resident was operating her motor vehicle northbound on the off ramp to Wellington Street.

It is alleged that this driver lost control of her vehicle due to a medical condition. Her vehicle struck two other motor vehicles before entering a ditch and striking a hydro pole coming to rest on Waterloo Avenue. The driver and an eight year old female passenger and the female driver of a second vehicle were transported to Guelph General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The three vehicles sustained approximately $22,000.00 damage.

Traffic Stop leads to arrest
On January 27, 2013, at 2:54 a.m., Guelph Police conducted a traffic stop on Macdonell Street. Police investigation led to the subsequent discovery of a small quantity of marijuana and open liquor within the vehicle. The driver was arrested.

Khalid HASHEM, 21 years of Toronto has been charged with possession of a controlled substance. He was also charged with an offence under the Liquor Licence Act. He will appear in court on March 12, 2013.

Police looking for assistance identifying robbery suspects
On January 27, 2013, at 3:00 a.m., a man was assaulted and robbed of his cell phone while on Carden Street by three unknown male suspects. The victim was transported to Guelph General Hospital where he received treatment for minor injuries he sustained to his head and face.

Two of the males are described as Asian descent, approximately 19-22 years, 5'8", thin builds and both had chin strap style facial hair. The third male involved is a Caucasian male, approximately 19-22 years, 5'8", 180 lbs scruffy facial hair.
