Serious Collision Sends Two to Hospital - January 28, 2013

(GREENOCK TWP, ON)- On January 28, 2013 at 10:40 am, the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a 2 vehicle crash on Highway 9 in Greenock Township. Officers attended with the Brockton Fire Department and Bruce County EMS to find both vehicles at rest on the north shoulder of the highway.

Fire fighters extricated one of the drivers who was transported to the Walkerton hospital with serious injuries. The driver has since been taken to Victoria hospital in London. The other driver was taken to the Wingham hospital for assessment of minor injuries.

Highway 9 has been closed in both directions between Bruce County Road 4 and Bruce County Road 1 for the safety of emergency responders. Motorists are asked to respect the closure and avoid the incident area.

Members of the OPP Technical Traffic Collision unit have been called to the scene to assist the South Bruce OPP with this collision.

The investigation is in its early stages. Anyone with information is asked to call the South Bruce OPP or Crime Stoppers.
