Perth County OPP Reports - January 29, 2013

(MUNICIPALITY OF WEST PERTH, ON)- On Monday January 28, 2013, a Francis St., resident in Mitchell contacted the Perth County OPP to report a break-in to his garage.

Investigation revealed that the culprit(s) gained entry into the garage by means of an unlocked side garage door sometime between 10 p.m. on Sunday January 27th and 3 a.m. on Monday January 28th. Vehicles which were parked in the garage had been rummaged through but nothing appeared to have been taken.

Officers canvassed neighbouring residences to ascertain if anyone may have seen or heard something, or if other citizens had been the victim of a similar crimes. A neighbour residing a few houses down the street advised that his vehicle had also been entered overnight, but there was no damage and nothing appeared to have been stolen.

Residents are urged to lock their doors and to report criminal or suspicious activity immediately. Reporting these events is of great help to the police as they will know where and when to concentrate patrols or conduct crime prevention initiatives.
