Two vehicle collision Gordon Street at Surrey Street
On January 29, 2013 at 11:50 a.m., the Guelph Police, Fire and EMS attended to Gordon Street at Surrey Street in response to a two vehicle collision. Investigation alleges that a 2002 Pontiac Sunfire was travelling northbound on Gordon Street when it struck a 2010 Ford van that was turning left from Gordon Street to Surrey Street.

The Pontiac Sunfire received extensive damage to the front end and the impact deployed the airbags. Damage to that vehicle is estimated in excess of $10,000.00. The Ford van sustained significant damage to the midsection of the passenger side. Damage to that vehicle is estimated to be approximately $10,000.00.

The 43 year old female driver of the Sunfire was transported to Guelph General Hospital by paramedics for treatment of minor injuries. The 41 year old male driver of the Ford van sustained a minor shoulder injury but did not require immediate treatment. He has been charged with the Highway Traffic Act offence of Turn Not in Safety.

Gordon Street north of Wellington Street was closed to traffic for approximately 30 minutes while the involved vehicles and debris were cleared from the roadway. City bus driver struck with snowball
On January 29, 2013, at 9:50 a.m., Guelph Police attended to the area of Starwood Drive and Keating Street to investigate an assault complaint. A female city bus driver alleges that an unknown male passenger became irate and on exiting the bus threw a snowball at her.

The bus driver was not injured. This man was last seen heading towards Watson Parkway. He is described as male white, 5'9", medium build, dark hair, 30 years, clean shaven, wearing glasses, a grey coat and carrying a back pack.
