(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH SOUTH, ON) On Friday February 01, 2013, shortly before 8:30 a.m., Perth County OPP officers were dispatched to a rural property east of the village of Kirkton along Perth Line 8, where a pickup truck had rolled beside a creek and the driver was unresponsive.

Upon arrival, officers noted that the pickup truck was on its roof beside a culvert partially in the water, approximately 80 meters north of Perth Line 8. They located an elderly male partially submerged in the water against the truck. The male was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Investigation revealed that the male had been driving to the residence early in the morning when his truck left the laneway and rolled down the embankment. The male climbed out of his truck but ended up in the ice cold water of the rapid flowing creek.

The deceased male has been identified as Kenneth BLACKLER (82) a resident of the Township of Perth South.
