Single vehicle collision leads to criminal charge
On February 3, 2013 at 4:55 p.m., Guelph Police attended to Stone Road West to investigate a single vehicle collision. A 2008 Subaru sedan had smashed into a light pole injuring the male driver and destroying the vehicle.

The driver was transported to Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Further investigation determined that the driver had more than the legal limit of alcohol in his body and he was arrested.

Philip CANUEL 31 years of Cambridge has been charged with drive over 80mgs contrary to the Criminal Code. He was further charged with careless driving and failing to wear a seatbelt, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. He will appear in court on February 26, 2013.

Voyeurism charges laid
On February 1, 2013, at 4:45 p.m., Guelph Police Officers were flagged down by citizens who had detained a male near the downtown area. Through investigation at the scene, it was alleged that the detained male had entered a women's washroom in a public building.

Two women were identified as victims of this male's inappropriate behaviour while he was in the women's washroom. The male was arrested for two counts of voyeurism. In partnership with the University of Guelph Campus Community Police, the male was identified as being responsible for a second incident that had occurred in October 2012 at the University of Guelph.

As a result, the male was charged with a third count of voyeurism for that incident. Ryan HOLT, 25 years old of Guelph has been charged with three counts of voyeurism and three counts of breaching his probation order. He will be in court on February 4, 2013.
