Robbery
On February 8, 2013 at 9:00 p.m., a male entered the Hasty Market located at 115 Downey Road. Once inside the store the suspect brandished a crowbar, demanding that the store employee give him money.

An undisclosed amount of money was turned over and the suspect and another male that was waiting outside of the store fled westbound on Downey Road. They were last seen northbound on Pheasant Run. The store employee was not harmed in this incident.

The first suspect is described as a white male, 5'10"- 6', 140lbs, thin build, with blue eyes, wearing a black hoody jacket. The clerk was unable to provide a description of the second male that was outside of the store.

Collision leads to impaired driver arrest
On February 10, 2013, at 2:06 a.m., the Guelph Police received a call about a hit and run collision involving a taxi at the intersection of Woolwich Street and Macdonell Street. The vehicle left the scene at a high rate of speed being followed by two taxi cabs.

The vehicle made its way onto Arthur Street North where it collided with the security gate of the Homewood Health Centre. The male driver attempted to flee the scene but was detained by the cab drivers. Police arrived on scene and an arrest was made. No injuries were sustained by any involved persons and damage is valued at approximately $2, 000.

Daniel JENDE 23 years of Guelph has been charged with impaired driving, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, fail to stop and refuse to provide a breath sample. He will appear in court on February 19, 2013.

Car entries reported
Guelph Police received four reports of thefts from cars over the weekend. The reports came in from Wellington Street West, Marksam Road, College Avenue West and Wyndham Street South.
