Impaired driver - arrest
On February 14, 2013, at 6:52 p.m., Guelph Police received information about a possible impaired driver. A description and location was given. Police went to the location, 224 Victoria Road South, and at 6:58 p.m., observed a man walking through the parking lot towards the vehicle.

As Police approached the car the man got in and drove out of his parking spot. Police activated emergency lights and sirens and conducted a traffic stop. Further investigation determined that the man was impaired and he was arrested.

Douglas EVES, 49 years of Morriston has been charged with impaired driving and drive over 80mgs. He will appear in court on March 26, 2013.


Public intoxication arrest after dip in the Speed river
On February 15, 2013, at 12:19 a.m., Guelph Police went to a residence on Arthur Street to investigate the report of a man ringing the doorbell repeatedly. Police located an intoxicated man that appeared to have been in the Speed River as he was soaked.

The 18 year old man was arrested for public intoxication and taken to the Guelph Police Station for his safety.


Man assaults bar staff - arrested
On February 15, 2013, at 12:35 a.m., Guelph Police attended to a bar on Woodlawn Road to assist employees with a male that was being detained. Investigation alleges that the intoxicated male had been asked to leave the property but became aggressive with staff.

Two employees were repeatedly punched by the man before they were able to control him and call Police. The two employees received minor injuries to their faces.

Nathan FORGET, 20 years of Tiny Township has been charged with two counts of assault. He will appear in court on March 26, 2013.


Drive over 80mgs - arrest
On February 15, 2013, at 2:13 a.m., Guelph Police conducted a traffic stop on Wyndham Street North. Police spoke with the male driver and a demand was made for a roadside breath sample. He failed this test and was arrested.

Sanaden RAVEENDRAN, 22 years of Guelph has been charged with drive over 80mgs. He will appear in court on March 1, 2013.


Man climbing the construction crane downtown arrested
On February 15, 2013 at 3:00 a.m., Guelph Police went to the construction site on MacDonell Street to investigate the report of people climbing the crane. Officers located several parties on the property. One male, disregarded the officers and continued to climb the crane until he reached the top, approximately 10 stories in height.

Officers were able to negotiate the male back to the ground safely and without injury. Guelph Fire, Guelph Wellington EMS and several Guelph Police officers remained on stand-by for the duration of the incident.

Agustin LOBOS-MEDINA, 21 years of Guelph has been charged with mischief. He will appear in court on March 26, 2013.
