Recall - Mossy Oak Pro Hunter Knife Combo Set

Web posted on February 25, 2013

The affected product is sold as a kit which includes a fixed-blade skinning knife, a folding gut-hook knife and accompany sheath. The knives measure approximately 23 centimetres (9 inches) and are made of non-slip rubber handles with a camouflage pattern. The sheath is designed to carry both knives and is composed of nylon. The product was sold at Canadian Tire with the item number 75-5691 and UPC 013893626363.

The sheath used to hold the knives is missing a protective guard to prevent the knife from poking through it. The fixed-blade knife can poke through the sheath causing injury to the user. Consumers can return the defective knife set with sheath to Canadian Tire stores for a full refund.

Canadian Tire has received one reported incident in which a consumer received a cut to their leg. Health Canada has not received any reports of incidents or injuries related to the use of the knife and sheath.

The affected product was manufactured in China and sold in Canada through the Canadian Tire Corporation Ltd, Toronto, Ontario. The affected kits were sold from September 2011 to December 2012. Approximately 1,530 units of the recalled kits were sold at Canadian Tire stores across Canada.
