Drug arrests made downtown
On February 28, 2013 at 6:17 p.m., a member of the High Enforcement Action Team (H.E.A.T) was on foot patrol inside a Macdonell Street establishment. Upon exiting the building, two males were observed in a doorway preparing drugs for consumption. Both males were placed under arrest and a small quantity of marijuana was seized.

Paul STEPHENS, 45 years of Guelph has been charged with possession of a controlled substance. He will appear in court on April 17, 2013. A 32 year old Guelph man was charged with possession of a controlled substance and breach probation. He is still in custody and will appear in bail court on March 1, 2013.

Drug unit makes arrest
On February 20, 2013 the Guelph police Drug Unit began an investigation into a man suspected to be a trafficker of cocaine. The investigation went on over an 8 day period concluding on February 28, 2013 at 6:48 p.m. with an arrest.

A 24 year old Mount Forest man has been charged with trafficking a controlled substance. He is still in custody and will appear in bail court on March 1, 2013.

Female arrested for attempt arson
On February 28, 2013 at 7:18 p.m., Guelph police attended to 90 Carden Street to investigate the complaint that a female had turned on an emergency fire hose within the building. While investigating this complaint, police saw the responsible female exit her apartment and observed that her room appeared to smell of smoke.

Police entered the apartment to discover paper placed over the ignited burner on her stove. She was arrested for mischief. Continued investigation by Police and the Guelph Fire Department alleges that the female was attempting to create a fire within her apartment and further charges were laid.

A 23 year old Guelph female has been charged with mischief under $5000, mischief endangering life and attempt arson disregard for human life. She is still in custody and will appear in bail court on March 1, 2013.

Guelph police looking to identify owners of located stolen property
On February 13, 2013, members of the Guelph Police Service executed a search warrant at a local residence. Police located and seized a number of stolen cellular devices, GPS devices, laptops, gaming systems and video games, digital cameras, tattoo kit and other miscellaneous items believed to be stolen property from vehicle entries and residential break and enters.

Numerous owners have been located; however, a quantity of property remains unclaimed. Police are requesting the Public's assistance. If you have been the victim of a vehicle entry or break and enter, and you are missing property as described above, please contact D/Cst. Neumann 519-824-1212 Ex 352 or D/Cst. Vanden Enden 519-824-1212 Ex 7107 to attempt to identify unclaimed items.

Proof of ownership will need to be established for property to be released. (ie serial numbers, photographs, distinguishing marks etc.).
