DRIVER CHARGED WITH RACING
(CHATSWORTH, ON) - On Sunday, March 3, 2013 at approximately 3:00 p.m. a Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer patrolling Hwy 6, south of Williamsford in the Township of Chatsworth observed a southbound vehicle travelling at a very fast rate of speed. The cruiser's radar was activated and registered a speed of 177 km/h in an 80 km/h zone.

The driver, a 28 year old male from Barrie, was issued a Summons for Racing under the Highway Traffic Act. He is scheduled to appear in court in Owen Sound on April 15, 2013.

His vehicle, a 2013 Kia Optima, which was equipped with an ignition interlock device as a result of an impaired driving conviction, was impounded for 7 days.

DRIVER CHARGED WITH RACING
(MUNICIPALITY OF GREY HIGHLANDS, ON) - On Saturday, March 2, 2013 at approximately 5:48 p.m. a member of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Traffic Management Unit of the Highway Safety Division was conducting speed enforcement on Grey Rd. 14 in the Municipality of Grey Highlands.

The officer was stationary when he observed a 2008 Mercedes C4A vehicle travelling southbound on Grey Rd. 14 at a fast rate of speed. The radar registered a speed of 145 km/h in a 80 km/h zone.

The 30 year old male driver from Toronto was issued a Summons for Racing under the Highway Traffic Act. He is scheduled to appear in court in Owen Sound on March 25, 2013.

His vehicle was impounded for 7 days
