Pedestrian struck
On March 4, 2013 at 3:50 p.m., Guelph police attended to Gordon Street near College Avenue in response to a pedestrian struck call. Investigation alleged that a 22 year old male pedestrian was walking southbound in the southbound bicycle lane of Gordon Street.
The pedestrian began to run, and then started to cross Gordon Street in front of an oncoming southbound car. The driver made an attempt to avoid the pedestrian but contact was made causing the man to hit the windshield and then fall to the ground.
The pedestrian was taken to Guelph hospital before being sent to Hamilton hospital for medical treatment of a head injury. The driver was not injured. Gordon Street was closed for almost two hours while the police investigation was being done.

Drive over 80mgs - arrest
On March 5, 2013 at 1:40 a.m., Guelph police investigated a car and driver on Norfolk Street. Police spoke with the male driver and a demand was made for a roadside breath sample. He failed this test and was arrested.
Garret MACDONALD, 20 years of Mississauga has been charged with drive over 80mgs contrary to the Criminal Code and also charged with young driver blood alcohol above zero contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. He will appear in court on March 22, 2013.
