Update March 08, 2013 - Police have released the name of the second man in the downtown brawl on March 06, 2013.

Koyash SKANDER, 20 years of Guelph, has been charged with cause disturbance by fighting, assault with a weapon, weapons dangerous, and four counts of breach of probation. He appeared in bail court on March 7, 2013 but was remanded in custody. He will appear in court again on March 19, 2013.

Two arrested after fight downtown
March 6, 2013 at 4:17 p.m., the Guelph police attended to the front entrance to the Old Quebec Street Mall in response to the report of a fight. Two males had begun fighting when one of the males brandished a knife and began swinging it at the other male. The fight continued until a member of the Guelph Police H.E.A.T. unit arrived on scene and arrested both men.

Robert GARCEAU-GOUDREAULT, 24 years of Guelph has been charged with cause disturbance by fighting and being intoxicated in a public place. He will appear in court on March 12, 2013. The other male, a 20 year old from Guelph, has been charged with cause disturbance by fighting, assault with a weapon, weapons dangerous, and four counts of breach of probation. He was held in custody pending a bail hearing on March 7, 2013.

Graffiti investigation
On March 6, 2013 Guelph police attended to the Guelph Muslim Society situated at 286 Water Street regarding numerous spray painted graffiti markings on their building and portable building. The graffiti contained numerous racial slurs and hate symbols.

This incident would have occurred sometime overnight between the hours of 9:00 p.m. on March 5, 2013 and 7:00 a.m. on March 6, 2013.

Internal theft investigation leads to two arrests
On June 1, 2012, Guelph police began an investigation of internal thefts from a local business. On March 6, 2013, this investigation concluded with the arrests of two males.

Jose MARTINS, 47 years of Fenwick has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime, and six counts of theft under $5000.00 covering a time period from November 2012 through March 2013.

Glen EDEN, 51 years of Hamilton has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime, and eight counts of theft under $5000.00 covering a time period from November 2012 through March 2013.

Both men will appear in court on April 30, 2013.
