FATAL COLLISION INVOLVING HORSE DRAWN MENNONITE WAGON
Witness information requested
(MUNICIPALITY OF HURON-KINLOSS, ON) - On Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at approximately 8:58 p.m., South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was dispatched to a collision involving a horse drawn Mennonite wagon on Bruce Road 7 between Concession 2 and Concession 4, in the Municipality of Huron-Kinloss.

A Ford Taurus travelling north bound on Bruce Road 7 collided with the back end of a horse drawn Mennonite wagon carrying a load of lumber which was travelling in the same direction.

The driver of the horse drawn wagon, a 21 year old male from Huron-Kinloss was ejected from the wagon and pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Ford Taurus, a 35 year old male from Ripley, was transported by ambulance to the hospital in Kincardine with minor injuries.

The OPP West Region Technical Traffic Collision Investigation Unit has been called to assist the South Bruce OPP with this investigation.

Anyone that may have witnessed this crash is asked to call the South Bruce OPP or Crime Stoppers.

OPEN LIQUOR SEIZED AT R.I.D.E.
(KINLOSS TWP, ON) - On March 2, 2013 at 10:25 pm, members of the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), along with members of the Huron OPP, were conducting R.I.D.E. on Bruce County Road 86 when a Black Ford Escape stopped. Officers located open alcohol inside the vehicle. 24 year old Chad DROWN of Waterloo was charged with Drive motor vehicle with open alcohol.

DRIVER WALKING FOR 3 DAYS
(KINCARDINE TWP, ON) - On March 2, 2013 at 7:41 pm, a South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer on patrol along Highway 21 in Kincardine Township stopped a Black Chevrolet Cruze. The officer found that the driver had been drinking alcohol. A 3 day licence suspension was issued following a warn result at the roadside.

Motorists are reminded that the South Bruce OPP has a zero tolerance for driver's that choose to driver after consuming alcohol.

IMPAIRED DRIVER CAUSES 2 VEHICLE CRASH
(CARRICK TWP, ON) - On March 2, 2013 at 6:40 pm, the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police received a report of a 2 vehicle crash along Highway 9 in Carrick Township. Officers arrived to find that a Blue Ford Windstar pulled into the path of a Black Ford Windstar that was travelling along Highway 9.

The driver of the Blue Windstar was found to have been drinking alcohol. 57 year old John SIMON of Carrick Township has been charged with Impaired operation, Operate over 80 milligrams, Start from stopped position - not in safety and Fail to surrender insurance card. He is scheduled to appear in court on April 8, 2013 to answer to the charges. There were no injuries reported at the scene.

SUSPICIOUS MALE ARRESTED FOR INTOXICATION
(WALKERTON, ON) - On March 2, 2013 at 12:11 pm, the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a suspicious male staggering along the sidewalk on Durham Street East in Walkerton. Officers located the man and found that he was very intoxicated. 58 year old Michael HECTOR of Toronto was arrested and charged with Being intoxicated in a public place.
