Perth County OPP Charge Impaired Drivers

(MUNICIPALITY OF WEST PERTH, ON) On Friday March 08, 2013, shortly after 10 a.m. Perth County OPP officers were alerted by staff of a concrete form manufacturing plant on Arthur St. South in Mitchell of an intoxicated male who had driven onto the property.

Police attended at the scene and located the intoxicated male who was arrested and transported to the Perth County OPP Detachment in Sebringville were he failed two Intoxilyzer breath tests. Clare STRAUS (65) of Stratford has been charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle, and operation of a motor vehicle with over 80 mgs of alcohol in 100 ml of blood.

He is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford on April 15, 2013 to answer to these charges. His driver's licence has been suspended for 90 days and his vehicle has been impounded for 7 days.

(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH EAST, ON) On Saturday March 09, 2013, at approximately 12:30 a.m. a Milverton resident heard a loud bang outside of his residence. The resident observed that his car which was parked along Whaley Ave in Milverton had been struck by another car. The resident ran out and spoke to the driver of the car who was found to be intoxicated.

Perth County OPP officers attended and arrested the intoxicated driver who was taken to the Perth County OPP Detachment in Sebringville for breath tests which he failed. Travis BOWMAN (18) of the Township of Perth East has been charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle, and operation of a motor vehicle with over 80 mgs of alcohol in 100 ml of blood.

He is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford on April 08, 2013 to answer to these charges. His driver's licence has been suspended for 90 days and his vehicle has been impounded for 7 days.

(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH EAST, ON) On Saturday March 09, 2013, shortly before midnight, Perth County OPP officers were alerted by a motorist that an east bound car on Hwy 8 was all over the road. The car was located by police between Mitchell and Sebringville. The male driver was arrested and transported to the Perth County OPP Detachment for Intoxilyzer breath tests which he failed.

Ryan MCARTHUR (20) of Dundas has been charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle, and operation of a motor vehicle with over 80 mgs of alcohol in 100 ml of blood. He is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford on April 15, 2013 to answer to these charges. His driver's licence has been suspended for 90 days and his vehicle has been impounded for 7 days.
