MILITARY ITEMS STOLEN FROM VEHICLE

(MUNICIPALITY OF GREY HIGHLANDS, ON) - On Saturday, March 9, 2013, Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a theft from a vehicle on Toronto Street, North, Markdale, in the Municipality of Grey Highlands.

Between 7:00 a.m. and 7:15 a.m. on Saturday, March 9th, unknown person(s) entered the unlocked vehicle parked outside the Mac's Milk convenience store located on Toronto St., North in Markdale at which time a Land Force Central Area (LFCA) military duty bag was stolen.

The Canadian Military items stolen included: winter hats, mitts, a fleece jacket, a multi tool and a pair of binoculars. A tactical vest without the body armour panels was also taken. The items were identified with REID 029 written in black marker.

DRIVER CHARGED WITH OVER 80MG

(MUNICIPALITY OF MEAFORD, ON) â€" On Saturday, March 9, 2013 at approximately 3:30 p.m. Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped the driver of 2003 Nissan vehicle on Thompson Street, Meaford, in the Municipality of Meaford for failing to properly wear a seatbelt.

The driver was found to have been drinking alcohol and further investigation revealed he was suspended from driving.

After failing a road side breath test, further breath tests were conducted at the Meaford Detachment which concluded that the driver had consumed more than twice the legal limit of alcohol.

Richard H. VANROOYEN, 54, of Meaford, was charged with Exceed 80 milligrams of Blood Alcohol Content while Operating Motor Vehicle and Driving while Disqualified under the Criminal Code. He was also charged with Driver - Fail to Properly Wear Seat Belt under the Highway Traffic Act.

He is scheduled to appear in court in Owen Sound on March 28, 2013.
