Robbery - arrest
On March 17, 2013 at 2:32 p.m., the Guelph police attended a confectionery store located on Grange Street after receiving a call that the store had been robbed. Investigation alleges that a male entered the store wearing a scarf to cover his face and brandished a large knife, demanding money.
After the employee turned over some cash the male fled the store and rode away on a bicycle. Police utilized canine and witness statements to identify and locate the male who was arrested at 4:38 p.m.
A 19 year old Guelph man has been charged with robbery, wear disguise, utter threats X 2, weapons dangerous and breach of probation X 2. The male has been held in custody and will appear in bail court on March 18, 2013.

St. Patrick's Day
The Guelph Police are happy to report that Guelph's St. Patrick's Day celebrations, although busy, were manageable and there were no big disruptions to the community.
Enforcement results:
Several keg parties were investigated. This resulted in three Liquor Licence Act charges and the seizure of ten kegs from the homes.
Thirty noise complaints were attended resulting in ten bylaw charges.
Nine arrests for public intoxication, eight charges for open liquor and four charges for public urination were laid.
