Impaired driver - arrest

On April 20, 2013, at 3:08a.m., Guelph Police observed a motor vehicle being driven erratically in the downtown area. A traffic stop was conducted at Gordon Street by James Street. Further investigation at the road side with the male driver led to his arrest.

Mark VROOMAN, 23 years of Guelph has been charged with impaired driving and drive over 80 mgs. He will appear in court on May 24, 2013.

Break and enter

On April 21, 2013, at 7:35 p.m., Guelph Police attended to a home on Hasler Crescent to investigate a break and enter. Entry to the home was through a basement window that the culprit(s) smashed. The resident believed that the break and entry had occurred approximately an hour prior to police arrival. A theft did occur from the home.

Graffiti suspects sought

On Sunday April 21, 2013 between 11:00 a.m. and 3:45 p.m., unknown suspect(s) attended to the concession stand on the west side of Exhibition Park by the small ball diamond. The suspect(s) used spray paint to put various inappropriate statements and images on the concession stand doors, the picnic table, garbage can and sidewalk around the concession stand. The statements included racial slurs. The City Public Works Department has been called in to remove the graffiti and that work is presently ongoing.
