SHED ENTERED TOOLS REMOVED

(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH SOUTH, ON) - On Wednesday December 18, 2013, Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were called to a rural address along Hwy 7 (Road 119) just south of Stratford where the homeowner reported thefts from his garage/shed outbuilding.

From information provided by the owner it was determined that unknown persons entered onto the property sometime between 5 p.m. Tuesday December 17th, and 9 a.m. Wednesday December 18th.

The unlocked, unattached garage/shed was entered and the vehicles inside were rummaged through. Small change was removed from inside the vehicles. The thieves then proceeded to remove an 11hp Champion generator and a Stihl gas powered cut-off saw.

UNLOCKED VEHICLES RANSACKED CAR STOLEN

(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH EAST, ON) - On Wednesday December 18, 2013, Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were dispatched to three residences in Shakespeare where vehicles had been entered and rummaged through.

Investigation revealed that between 1:30 2:30 a.m. December 18th, someone walked around the Webster, Regent and James Street area of Shakespeare checking vehicle doors to see if they were unlocked. Two residents reported their unlocked vehicles ransacked, however nothing appears to have been removed.

A Regent Street resident was not so fortunate, as a 2004 VW Jetta was stolen from the driveway. The vehicle is described as black diesel 2004 Volkswagen Jetta with a loud exhaust. It also had Ontario licence plates 56FS73 attached to the front and rear. The car had been left unlocked with a spare set of keys inside.

SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE STOP RESULTS IN CHARGES

(MUNICIPALITY OF WEST PERTH, ON) - On Tuesday December 17, 2013, around 3:30 a.m., Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were on patrol along St. David Street in Mitchell when they observed a Dodge Neon without headlights activated.

The Neon drove past the OPP cruiser and made a quick turn onto Trafalgar Street, abruptly parking at a residence. Police stopped the male driver who was walking away from the vehicle while a second male was located inside.

The driver was found to be suspended from driving, breaching a probation order, and was in possession of stolen property as well as a schedule I drug. The male passenger resisted arrest when officers were dealing with him. He was found to be breaching a probation order, was in possession of stolen property, and had break-in tools in his possession.

Trevor LADD (30) of the Municipality of West Perth has been charged with "driving while under suspension", "possession of property under $5,000", "fail to comply with probation order", and "possession of a schedule I substance". He remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in Stratford Court on Friday December 20, 2013 to answer to these charges.

Joseph CLUETT (18) of the Municipality of West Perth has been charged with "possession of property under $5,000", "resist peace officer", "possession of break in instruments", and "fail to comply with disposition". He remains in custody until December 30, 2013, when he is scheduled to appear in Stratford Court to answer to these charges.
