Drive over 80 mg - arrest

On January 11, 2014, at 6:50 p.m., the Guelph Police attended to the area of Stone Road and Edinburgh Road to investigate the report of a possible impaired driver. Police located the car parked in a parking lot in the area with the driver in it.

Police spoke with the male driver and a demand was made for a roadside breath sample. He failed this test and was arrested. Subsequent to his arrest a quantity of a controlled substance was located and seized.

Jason KELEHER, 26 years of Guelph, has been charged with drive over 80mg and possession of a controlled substance (C.D.S.A.). He will appear in court on January 28, 2014.

Drive over 80 mg - arrest

On January 11, 2014, at 11:39 p.m., the Guelph Police observed a vehicle avoiding a R.I.D.E. program that was in effect on Gordon Street. Police stopped the vehicle in a nearby parking lot. Police spoke with the male driver and a demand was made for a roadside breath sample. He failed this test and was arrested.

James RUIZ, 18 years of Woodbridge has been charged with drive over 80mg under the Criminal Code and novice driver B.A.C. above zero under the Highway Traffic Act. He will appear in court on January 21, 2014.

Drive over 80 mg - arrest

On January 12, 2014, at 2:49 a.m., the Guelph Police conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle at Kortright Road and the Hanlon Expressway after radar captured a speed of 140 km/hr in the 80 km/hr zone. Police spoke with the male driver and a demand was made for a roadside breath sample. He failed this test and was arrested.

Sinisa GRAHOVAC, 26 years of Guelph, has been charged with drive over 80mg under the Criminal Code and stunt driving excessive speed and speeding under the Highway Traffic Act. He will appear in court on January 28, 2014.

Break and enter

On January 12, 2014 at 9:18 p.m., the Guelph Police attended to a James Street West apartment building to investigate a break and enter. The culprit(s) entered the apartment sometime during the day or early evening through an unlocked door.

A theft of a gold chain is reported.

Drive over 80 mg - arrest

On January 13, 2014, at 12:17 a.m., the Guelph Police observed a truck driving at a high rate of speed on Arrow Road. A traffic stop was conducted and police spoke with the male driver. A demand was made for a roadside breath sample. He failed this test and was arrested.

David ADAMS, 37 years of Midland, has been charged with drive over 80mg. He will appear in court on January 28, 2014.

Theft from cars - arrest

On January 10, 2014 at 5:55 a.m., the Guelph Police were dispatched to the area of Normandy Street and William Street to investigate a person going through cars. Upon arrival, police were advised by witnesses that the responsible female was walking north bound on Victoria Road.

Police located the female at the corner of Victoria Road and Casino Avenue pushing a small grocery cart containing three bags of property and she was arrested. A search of the bags discovered electronic items, cords, $26.55 in change and various pieces of identification.

All the items were consistent with items taken from vehicles. The total value of the located items is approximately $500.

Amber MINNS, 22 years of Guelph has been charged with theft under $5,000, possession of stolen property under $5,000 and breach probation. She will appear in court on January 15, 2014.
