RIDE Stop Catches Impaired Driver - January 21, 2014

(CITY OF GUELPH, ON) On January 18, 2014, at approximately 12:55 a.m., Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers had a R.I.D.E. program for southbound vehicles on Highway 6 near College Avenue, Guelph.

Officers spoke with a male driver of a 2013 Ford and he showed signs of alcohol consumption. A roadside screening device test was given which resulted in a fail.

The Administrative Driver's Licence Suspension (ADLS) program was initiated and his motor vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Michael Johnston age 33 of Toronto has been charged with Over 80 mgs, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on February 18, 2014.
