Two car collision

On January 20, 2014 at 3:35 p.m., the Guelph Police attended the intersection of Speedvale Avenue and Eramosa Road for a collision. Investigation alleges that a Hyundai with three occupants was travelling east on Speedvale Avenue.

This vehicle made a left turn onto Eramosa Road in the path of a Chevrolet Impala being operated by a 48-year-old Guelph woman. Both vehicles collided within the intersection.

A 34-year-old pregnant passenger had to be extricated from the Hyundai. She was taken to Guelph hospital with minor injuries. Both vehicles were destroyed in the collision and the estimated value of damages exceeds $25,000. There were no other injuries reported in this collision.

Impaired driver

On January 20, 2014 at 5:13 p.m., the Guelph Police received a complaint about a possible impaired driver. Police located the vehicle in the area of Stone Road and College Avenue. A traffic stop was conducted and the male driver spoken to. He was subsequently arrested for impaired driving and transported to the Guelph Police station where he failed to provide the required breath samples.

Marc David VILLENEUVE, 44 years of Guelph has been charged with impaired driving and refuse to provide breath sample. He will appear in court on January 31, 2014.
